Choose the string count around your music.
A seventh string adds another voice to the instrument. How you use it depends on your tuning and playing: it can support lower parts alongside the range you already use. Before planning the build, note your intended tuning, preferred strings and the parts you want to play. Share those details with Jimmy when reviewing the guitar.
Six strings remain an option on every model. If your music already sits comfortably on a 6-string, you can focus the custom build on its feel, finish and appointments. If the extra string is part of your idea, select 7 strings in the showroom before choosing the hardware.
Seven strings and multiscale are separate choices.
You can configure a 7-string Fostinis with a 25.5-inch parallel-fret layout or a 25.5–27-inch multiscale layout. Both have 24 frets. The multiscale option uses a longer scale on the bass side and fanned frets. Read the multiscale guide to compare the layouts.
The seven-string Sphyx, Oryx and Matadaur keep their original body outlines. Eight-string versions are also available, with wider bodies, necks and fretboards and 4 + 4 tuners. Choose the model for its design, then select the string and scale options within that model. Left-handed builds are available too.
The hardware must fit the whole specification.
A 7-string build needs pickups, a bridge, tuners and a nut matched to that instrument. The showroom filters the extended-range hardware options when you change string count or scale. It also adjusts pickup placement to the selected layout.
Use the available choices as the starting point. If you want a specific pickup or bridge outside those choices, send it as a custom request so fit, availability and final pricing can be confirmed. A six-string part should not be assumed to fit a seven-string build.
